Prayer

Posted by kranberry on May 29, 2008

Lately, Pastor has been preaching and stressing a lot about prayer and I truly have been blessed by the sermons. Indeed, many Christians will find it joyful and easy to worship and sing a song to God, but when it comes to prayer, it becomes difficult, boring and plain dry. I admit I too sometimes don’t feel like praying because its kind of tiring.

Thankfully, after Pastor’s sharing, I felt a deep conviction in my heart that Yes, I’ll have to pray more than ever and it’s not that I have to, but I truly want to. I pray that God will give me the joy as I pray and I know as I pray and seek Him, God will draw me closer to Him. Its His presence that I want and without a solid prayer life, its just not going to happen.

Friends, let’s make prayer a daily thing in our lives. Don’t pray only when you’re in trouble or in need, it might be too late. God has every reason not to answer your prayers if you don’t even want to know Him or establish a relationship with Him. Today, let us pray and start going back to out first love. I leave you here today with a verse all of us are familiar with and hope that you will meditate upon it and be blessed. :)

2 Chronicles 7:14

“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Marketplace Christian

Posted by kranberry on May 21, 2008

Recently, I attended a seminar over the weekends and was totally awed by the speaker. What I thought to be an ordinary seminar turned out to be somewhat inspiring and challenging.

On the day I turned up for the seminar, I was suprised to hear Hillsong music played loudly over the auditorium and soon after the seminar began, the speaker was boldly proclaiming his faith in Jesus and completely attributed his success to God. That man made a very deep impression in my life hence on. He is a very rich and successful man and yet wasn’t ashame of publicly proclaiming God in the presence of about 200 people. On my last day of the seminar, the speaker even prayed for blessing over the lives of all the attendees. Something no other secular seminar would do!

Truely that man shows what it meant to be a marketplace christian and to be a light of the world and salt of the earth. I’m truely inspired.

Both the groom and bride looked extremely lovely that evening with their ostantatious gowns. God bless them with a happy marriage and congratulations to you both once again!!

What I am focusing on now..

Posted by kranberry on May 21, 2008

Strangely enough, recently, I am brought to a place in my life where I believe God is going to do somethng great and possibly a turning point in my journey with Him.

I have been through some rather challenging events lately and have been fasting and seeking Him. Somehow, I do sense in my spirit that God is challenging me to rise up in my faith in Him and I am trying to make sense of Matthew 6:33 “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you“. It is indeed a very difficult verse to understand, especially with out human intellect. I mean, how on earth am I supposed to put aside all my worries of earthly needs such as food, clothing, money etc and totally devout myself to seeking God? Is He going to rain down money from heaven into my bank account or do I expect my fridge to be miraculously filled with groceries?

So I have been thinking…but after some time and guidance from the Holy Spirit, I finally get it. No, God isn’t saying that I should heck care about my earthly needs and throw the problem back to Him as if God is some kind of Santa Clause who has to fulfill my needs and desires. I need to be responsible for my own life and my provisions. I still need to work and earn money and I also have to excercise wisdom in my finances. That is my responsibility and I cannot shake that off.

What Mat 6:33 really means is that we should always look to God as the dominating factor in our lives. He has to be in the centre of everything. Either God is Lord of All or He is not Lord at All. We have to learn not to worry about our problems and stop focusing on our mountains of problems. As we walk with God everday, praying and seeking Him earnestly and believing that He will be faithful to answer all our needs in life, God surely will provide and take care of it all. Today. I am going to make a decision to make all things, including my most pressing problems pale in comparison to looking unto God.

What about you?

A brief intoduction to N285

Posted by kranberry on May 20, 2008

Welcome to the blog of N285! We are one of the many cell groups in City Harvest Church. N285 was formed about 3 years ago and her leader is the very encouraging Mr Donny Wong.

We’re about 25 member strong now but are continuing to grow both in size and in the Lord. The group consists of mainly working adults and a great number of them are married couples and cute little babies. N285 members are passionate about our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and we meet every thursday to fellowship and worship our God.
